I guess we didn’t win after all. This is a building in US Navy’s Coronado, California Naval Amphibious Base. Here is the Wikipedia entry for it.
A draft study conducted by the National Register of Historic Places noted that the shape of the six-building complex was simply an oversight that went undetected during the Navy’s approval process.
Pandora launched a mobile version of their streaming music service to Sprint phone users. Pandora is “radio from the Music Genome Project” where people working on the project has linked certain songs and artists to similar songs and artists. The linking is very good. Once I enter an artist I like, I instantly get a song from another artist, that I’ve never heard of before but immediately fall in love with, next on the playlist. It is a great, FREE service for finding new music. Of course they also offer ways to purchase music.
Anyway, they launched Pandora to Go for Sprint users. I happen to be a Sprint user and downloaded the trial version. It works seamlessly. It’s just like going to their website. With that being said, I don’t know when I would ever use it. When I walk around, I usually listen to my iPod or not listen to anything. If I did find a song/artist I like, what can I do, I’m certainly not going to go to Sprint Music Store and buy a heavily compressed and proprietary version of the song for $3-4 which I can only listen to on my phone.
Pandora to Go’s a great service and the execution is perfect, there’s just no need or want for it.
The much anticipated (by me) Google Phone is set to be released by the end of the year. HTC will be manufacturing it. They’ve made their mark making Windows CE Pocket PCs.
There have been rumors about the phone for a few months now. So far, Gmail and Google Maps have been confirmed and it won’t have GPS built-in. It will support 3G and EDGE, no word on HSPDA. Only a non-US carrier Orange signed up to carry it. It was rumored to be unlocked so you could probably use it with T-Mobile and Verizon. No word on pricing but it was rumored to cost less than half what the iPhone will cost since it doesn’t say Apple on it.
Out East Family Fun is a mini golf place in Riverhead, NY. In addition to mini golf, they also have batting cages, water wars, jumpshot basketball and a 3-stories tall inflatable waterslide. I just finished this site.
Zamzar is a free online service where you can upload most files that you need a special program to open. Then you tell it what file format you want. The website then sends you an email with a link where you can download the converted file. This is a very useful tool that can be used by anyone.
Check their conversion types to see what file types you can convert to and from.
This is a collection of things adults believed when they were children.
i used to believe that all the people on t.v. lived in the plug. when the t.v. was off, they all congragated in the plug, and when we turned the t.v. on, all the little people would run through the inside of the cord, into the t.v. and act out any show we wanted to watch. i would feel sorry for them when my daddy would change the channel so much as they would have to change their clothes so often!
Here is a fun little internet thing. You have to type in all 50 states within 10 minutes. Try to do it without looking it up. Then post your time in my comments.
