Turn your favourite office tool from your desk in a common cutlery...this is din-ink. A set of pen caps, including a fork-cap, a knife-cap and a spoon-cap, that replaces the normal pen cap during lunch time! All caps are made by annually renewable resources, like natural starch and fibres, to be 100% biodegradable and atoxic, warranting the best alimentary use. Dispensing each set in a compostable packaging the whole set is designed to respect the environment. Now give your office ballpoint pen a good excuse to be gnawed by your teeth: use them for din-ink.

Farley (senior editor at www.travelandleisure.com) pointed out the results...mean people in Philadelphia are ugly or the city is a bad place to visit.Okay the "..." replaces "don't". But who cares Philadelphia sucks. Especially the way they played .500 ball at the end of the season, forcing the Mets to make the greatest collapse in sports history.

This is like one of my many nightmare scenarios to be in. It's like waking up while you're in surgery. Fortunately, it's wasn't in the part of the autopsy where your stomach is sliced open and the autopsy doctor juggles your intestines. If it was at that point, I think he would've went back to sleep.Carlos Camejo, 33, was declared dead after a highway accident and taken to the morgue, where examiners began an autopsy only to realize something was amiss when he started bleeding. They quickly sought to stitch up the incision on his face.
"I woke up because the pain was unbearable," Camejo said, according to a report on Friday in leading local newspaper El Universal.
His grieving wife turned up at the morgue to identify her husband's body only to find him moved into a corridor -- and alive.

A draft study conducted by the National Register of Historic Places noted that the shape of the six-building complex was simply an oversight that went undetected during the Navy’s approval process.

Sutree is a video website where you can watch and upload videos. The videos get rated and commented on like any other streaming video website. This website stands out from the rest that the videos are only tutorials. People can upload a video about something that they know how to do. Thiswould be great for the MAKE and ReadyMade audience. This seems like a really good idea. Labels: interesting, internet, video

The incredible tall Cory Doctorow posted about this on BoingBoing. It's about this premium wireless carrier called Voce. They are targeting rich people but it's not that ridiculously expensive. Their basic plan is $500 to buy one of their phones, which is unlocked and you're not locked into a contract. Then it's $200 a month after that. It seems like a lot but I know a lot of people are out there that go over on their plans and end up paying that much anyway.Labels: cell phone, interesting

A New York couple decided to move to Arizona once they retired. Like most New Yorkians, they didn't have a car. Rather than flying and shipping their pets where they can't see them, they decided to take a cab. They asked a taxi-driver, "wanna drive us to Arizona?" The taxi-driver said, "would I?!" all excited like Milhouse from the Simpsons would be. Then they did and gave Milhouse money. The end.Labels: interesting, news

The New York Times has an article about Pat Venditte who is a pitcher for Creighton University. He is different in that he can pitch with both hands. Pitchers like Venditte are pretty rare obviously. Most ambidexterious pitchers haven't been that good or is really only good with one arm, they just happened to be able to pitch with the other once in awhile. Zamzar is a free online service where you can upload most files that you need a special program to open. Then you tell it what file format you want. The website then sends you an email with a link where you can download the converted file. This is a very useful tool that can be used by anyone. Labels: interesting, internet web apps

Scienceblog has a post about the science of Godzilla, explaining the biology of Godzilla. It talks about both the original and the dumb one they made in 1998 where he was a monster created by the Mountain Dew marketing department. It has dinosaur experts talking about Godzilla if he had actually existed. Labels: Godzilla, interesting, monsters, science
Cinemorgue is a directory of actors and actresses and the movies in which they died in. I guess it's good to know, somehow. Maybe if you really hate an actor/actress and wish to see them dead.Labels: interesting, movies

Dandelife is a "social biography site". People can add their events on a timeline. You can wander around to other timelines and biographies. It's like how people on mySpace blog about things they've done or places they've been but much more organized. One cool feature is the integration with your Flickr account. You can associate pictures to events on your timeline. Same thing applies to your YouTube account. You can have your YouTube video connected to the event as well.
Their main competitor seems to be OurStory, which seem very traditional when you compare these two companies' business model. OurStory seems like one of those Web 2.0 companies that just offer a free service to get out there and start charging for "premium" accounts that have more features. I haven't tried registering with them but I think you can host your pictures there. Of course, they could offer more storage space for a fee. Very traditional Web 2.0 business model. In contrast, Dandelife seems to have a very different business model, according to Techcrunch. The stories you create with your Dandelife account and timeline can be bidded on by corporations to sponsor your story. Maybe it will be like "Sung's trip to Las Vegas is sponsored by Miller Lite" or "Welcome to the Taco Bell Drive to New Mexico". Mmm...Taco Bell...
This reminds me of the Seinfeld episode when Kramer sold his stories to Elaine's boss Mr. Peterson and couldn't tell the stories to anyone. Proving again that all good ideas come from Seinfeld.

Cory Doctorow posted on BoingBoing about this wasp that attacks roaches. It starts by stinging the brain so that the roach doesn't try to defend itself. It doesn't kill the bigger roach. It pretty much makes it a zombie. The wasp then uses the roach's antennae to guide it into the wasp's lair.Labels: bugs, insects, interesting, scary, zombie
This is a ridiculous story where Joyce Urch, a blind woman since 1979, woke up in the hospital after suffering a heart attack and could see again. Then she looked at her husband and mirror and said we're old. She was able to see her grandchild for the first time.
The doctors say that she has glucoma but that wasn't the reason for her blindness in the first place. They are still looking into how it happened.Labels: interesting, news
